When your front door is the first feature of your home that guests see, that feature should make a statement, whether it be prestige and elegance, robust security or understated quality. Our tailor-made and hand-crafted solid entrance doors are created with your unique requirements in mind.
Dimensionally-stable, multi-layered, high-density timbers are used to ensure lasting durability and strength. Meanwhile, superior locking systems provide a level of security that goes above and beyond the Association of British Insurers’ approved standards.
Our tailor-made timber French doors are designed to suit any period home or a traditional-style new build property. Designed to your exact specifications, the collection includes: outwards- or inwards-opening, multiple colour palette options to match interior or exterior décor and bespoke design door panels to suit your individual taste.
All of our wooden French doors are internally glazed to prevent would-be intruders from gaining access, while high-security hinges and multi-point locking systems ensure optimum protection and peace of mind. All bespoke specification upgrades are available with our wood French door collection, should you wish to further enhance the security features of your custom doors.
Whether you’re building a new home to a period style, creating a quality extension to your period home or simply replacing your original hardwood doors, bespoke timber bi-fold doors will complement any room. Offering considerable space and natural light to your living space, bi-fold doors are perfectly suited to both period-style and contemporary properties.
Uniquely created to suit your individual requirements, your bespoke bi-fold doors will transform your home by seamlessly blending your living spaces. Open or closed, they allow you to indulge in the beauty of your garden from the comfort of the inside.
We employ first-class fitters to ensure a sympathetic and outstanding result for your home. To minimise the disruption during the installation, there are things that you could help us with such as removing the furniture around the installation area prior to the day and disconnecting any alarms.
On the first day of the installation, the fitters will discuss and agree the sequence of the installation with you. Traditionally, timber door installation starts from the top down with doors being the last items to fit.
The installation and immediate surrounding areas will be fully protected before any work begins. Any existing doors are removed by cutting them in multiple bits to ensure minimal damage to the internal and external reveal. The opening is then cleaned from any debris, old cement and mortar. The new door is mechanically fixed with either metal fixing straps or screws, cleverly hidden behind the hinges. Depending on the individual property, the internal and external finishing differs from traditional brick-pointing (traditionally build & period properties), silicone & mastic (newbuild properties) to internal plastering (ready by painting by your decorator) or full carpentry finish including liners & bespoke architraves.
Once the installation is complete, the areas will be cleaned and the installers will demonstrate the function of the products, locks and hinges clearly explained.
When all your questions have been answered we will ask you to sign to confirm the installation is complete, the final payment will then become due to close the contract and we can then issue your guarantees as well as FENSA certification.
Your new timber doors will require minimal maintenance and, with good care, will last far beyond the terms of the guarantees.
Wood is a natural product and will encounter movement (a slight expansion and shrinking) at times, especially, when exposed to the elements or changing temperatures. Natural timber movement is likely to cause hairline paint cracks, particularly at the joints. The paint cracks can be maintained with filler and touch-up paint. Leaving the external paint cracks unattended for prolonged periods of time can result in a extensive water ingress, resulting in severe damage and ultimately, the decomposition of the wood. To avoid this, we advise to carrying out an annual inspection to clean and maintain where necessary.
External facing surfaces will require repainting as the paint gets thinner. The redecoration process is quite simple and does not require sanding, rubbing or burning off paint. Simply wipe the doors clean with a moist cloth and top up the micro-porous paint.
Non-abrasive and PH neutral washing up liquid should be used on a damp soft cloth or sponge to clean any grease, dirt, leaves or any other debris. Avoid saturation; any excess detergent needs to be wiped away with a clean, soft damp cloth.
The timber doors are designed to clear normal rainwater away without incurring damage. To ensure this process is effective, clear any debris, dead leaves or droppings from the sill.
During the settling in period, the doors will experience natural movement.
Try and avoid excessive force on closing such as slamming. Lastly, be mindful of the new weather/draft seals and pull the door towards you before turning the key when opening. In time, the draft seals will flatten out and ease.
